About the English Hubs Council
The English Hubs Council forms part of the English Hubs Programme. The Council represents the voices of the hub schools and brings insights from their experience of supporting schools to improve how they teach children to read.
English Hubs Council meetings provide a forum for debate and challenge around specific elements of programme design and implementation that inform the Department’s strategic planning for the programme. Details of the English Hubs Council membership past and present can be found below.
Please note that, from September 2021, the make-up of the Council changed with no externally recruited members or Reading Expert posts. From September 2021 the Council has only included Hub representatives. This is why you will note that there are no ‘Reading Expert’ positions listed in the current Council list.
Similarly, you will note that the post of ‘Training Centre Representative’ appears only on the list of past members. This is because the English Hubs Training Centre ended in March 2021.
